Map Cross-Reference

The maps created for the walk have been drawn using the scale and some information from the Portuguese equivalent of the Ordnance Survey. A new edition of these is now available, at 1:25000. Ask for Series M888. The sheet numbers remain the same as for earlier editions. They can be obtained as follows:

The scale throughout is 1:25.000
For those of you who are computer challenged please feel free to contact us for help. In time it is hoped that all images will be available as PDF files for easy download and printing.

Downloading and saving the maps

There are thumbnails of every map on the waymark sections for every route -but because of the nature of your need for a clear map for your walk the links on thos page will take you to very large files.

Depending on your own computer's software this may open in one of a few ways - in your computer's browser or image viewer it may look very small and unclear - but this will simply be your computer's way of reducing the image to enable it to load quickly.
We suggest:

• Right click on the image, copy and paste into image editing software, if you have some.
• Click edit, copy and then paste into a word document for printing
• click 'save to' and choose your 'my images' section. Then locate the file and you'll find it prints in full size (A4)
